Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands

from Black Jelly Beans and Smokes by Mark Lint

/

about

Recorded probably fall 1993, maybe a bit later. This should properly be a bonus track for my "Spanish Armada" acoustic solo album from that period, but I like it here as a reward for sitting through all that previous stuff.

The girl that I wrote the aforementioned album for was a big Dylan fan and got me to actually listen through his catalog. I took great delight in writing the additional lyrics and gestures for the backing vocals, which are where all the action is in my version of this legendarily lengthy tune.
