about

Written/recorded winter or spring 1992-3. Bass overdubbed in the late '90s at some point, freshly mixed in 2022 for this release.

This track was not included on the previous release, having been deemed too good for this album, which it's really not. It was a leftover that Steve never got around to mixing percussion on to for the MayTricks' "Happy Songs" album, and was then earmarked for my solo album "The Cheese Stands Alone," but didn't end up fitting on there either, so here it is reunited with its true brethren, a black jelly bean if ever I wrote one.

Both this and the next track replace the song "Sleep" from the original release of this album. That track DID get overdubs and made it on "The Cheese Stands Alone," so hearing it here without those adornments would just be redundant.
